Bellows, Servidio and Kemp win All-Star Game Skills Competitions

North Adams, MA, July 22, 2007

The NECBL added two skills competitions to the classic Home Run Derby before the 2007 All-Star Game.

The Sanford Mainers’ Brian Kemp (St. John’s) showed blazing speed winning the Fastest Runner event where the contestants were timed home to first base, the 60-yard dash and circling the bases.

North Adams’ John Servidio (Barry) thrilled the home-team fans by dominating the Most Accurate Arm event. Players aimed at targets at home plate from 3 different distances in center field. Servidio hit a target on all six of his throws scoring 14 points overall.

Holyoke’s Kyle Bellows (San Jose State) belted 4 homers in the final round to take the Home Run Derby honors.

A record All-Star crowd of 4,210 saw local hero Jeff Reardon throw out the first pitch and enjoyed the 14th annual NECBL All-Star Game.
