Several Manchester Silkworm signees have turned in impressive recent performances.

East Tennessee State infielder Chris Rankhorn racked up three multi-hit games in a four day span.  Rankhorn homered, singled and drove in two in a 9-8 loss to Georgia on 4/15.  Against Belmont, he doubled and singled in a 4-1 loss on 4/18.  The next day, he had a double, a single, two RBI and a steal in the Bucs’ 9-2 victory.

Seton Hal catcher Chris Affinito has boosted his slugging percentage over 200 points in the last five weeks.  He went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 RBI in Seton Hall’s 8-4 win vs. Princeton on 4/15.  The next day, he doubled, singled and scored a run in The Hall’s 3-2 win versus Wagner.  In two recent games against UConn- both wins-he belted seven hits in nine at bats, scoring three times and driving in two.

Harvard third baseman Sean O’Hara had four hits and 3 RBI in Harvard’s 7-6 loss to Yale on 4/13.  He followed that up with a 4 for 7 performance in Harvard’s 4/19 doubleheader sweep of Brown.  O’Hara tallied a double and 3 RBI on the day.

Middle Tennessee outfielder Zach Hudson is slugging .592 in his last 16 games.

Marist outfielder Mike Gallic, a Tolland Connecticut product, went 2 for 4 with a run scored in the Red Foxes’ 7-1 win vs. Army on 4/16.

On the mound…

Manhattan and Farmington, CT product Brian Pendergast threw a complete game shutout against Iona on 4/19.  Pendergast fanned seven in the gem.  He has a 3.94 ERA over his last 32 innings.

Jeremiah Bayer defeated the Coast Guard Academy on April 15th by striking out eleven and not allowing an earned run over seven innings.  Bayer has now allowed just one earned run in his last 18 innings, while striking out 25 in that span.  His Trinity Bantams have opened off the 2008 season with a scorching 27-0 record.  This is not a typo!

Wake Forest freshman Ryan McGrath got the start against Winthrop on 4/16.  He allowed three runs and four hits in four innings, while striking out three.

Wright State southpaw Jordan Wolfe also started on 4/16, against Dayton.  He allowed two earned runs in four innings, while whiffing one Flyer.

Returning Silkworm Brandon Otto started LeMoyne’s 4/15 game against Cornell.  Otto threw three shutout, one-hit innings while striking out two.  He followed that up four days later with a solid relief outing against Marist.
